Nestled within the coastal landscape of Mt Martha, this contemporary residence is a study in restraint, materiality, and timeless design. Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture, the home embraces simplicity, balance, and a deep connection to nature.
A carefully curated palette of exposed concrete, charred timber (Shou Sugi Ban), natural stone, and warm timber creates a tactile interplay of texture and light. Bold yet understated, the architecture celebrates craftsmanship and permanence, with clean lines framing tranquil courtyards and expansive garden vistas.
Designed to blur the boundaries between indoors and out, generous glazing, sheltered outdoor spaces, and thoughtfully composed volumes foster a sense of calm and contemplation.
