    Sorrento, Victoria

"A house without a courtyard is like a man without a soul"

Situated along side Casa Lunga, Casa Cortile draws inspiration from just that, the courtyard; surrounded by walls but open to the sky and greenery. The design is built on a sense of reveal and connectivity between the external landscape and indoor living. A guided, formal procession leads you up to composed gardens of swooping palms, arching trees and mossy green coverings that anchor the home’s form, planning and experience. In effort to maintain this sense of connectivity and sensibility of form, a robust materiality of off-form concrete, natural stone, and textural cladding are employed.
